Hair care help! I have naturally curly hair for my whole life, but not it is turning wavy/straight!?

I am a 15 year old girl. I have had naturally curly hair my whole life (with alot of highlights and straightening). My dad has VERY curly hair and my mom has wavy hair. All of a sudden my hair has turned into a combination of straight and wavy! Can anyone tell me why or what I can do stop this from happening?!
Do you think getting it cut would help get my curls back?

i used to have stick straight hair, then i hit puberty and now i hv wavy/straight hair. Your hair is probably changing as you are getting older like mine did. Both my mom and sister's hairs changed as they grew up too. My sister had curly hair as a kid and now she has straighter hair than i do, and i was born with straight hair! and my mom had straight hair and now it's wavy but then she permed it. :P A lot of people's hair changes as they get older. It's nothing to worry about! You could try shampoos meant to help enhance your curls to get more curls out of your hair and try a curling mousse or curl activating product so you can get as much curl and wave as you can out of your hair. I don't think it has anything to do with you straightening your hair and getting it highlighted.

This sounds a lot like what happened to me when I was about 12 or 13, but just backwards. LOL. I had stick-straight hair all through my childhood and right when I hit puberty it went wavy/curly and it's been that way ever since. You're a little old to blame it on puberty (unless you're a late bloomer, nothing wrong with that!) but who knows? I'm sure everyone's different. Another possibility is that your hair is damaged. You mentioned straightening and highlighting? I'm guilty of that, too. If my hair gets too damaged the curls don't look right. You might try what you said, and get a trim and see if that helps. You should also try Aussie Sprunch Spray to scrunch your hair, it makes my hair way curlier than if I used anything else! Good luck!
