The vast majority of diets will make you lose water, vitamins and minerals. It would appear that he has you on a very low cal diet, and trying to compensate for these by supplementing those.
Supplementing is never as good as the real thing, and water is stored with carbs, (one reason why low cal diets make you lose water weight).
You probably will end up losing some water weight and a bit of fat weight.
If you want to actually lose fat though you need to combine dieting with exercise. Right now your body is entering "starvation mode" and it will try to conserve energy, your metabolism is going to lower.
Overall, you probably will lose some actual fat, its not going to be healthy for you, but I assume theres a rush to get you thin and you cannot exercise?
